Step into the warm glow of KSTVET Hotel’s lush grounds, where hospitality students bring their skills to life in a simulated roleplay experience. Witness the art of exceptional service in action, as students showcase their talents in a real-world setting. Explore the elegance of our hotel, where learning meets luxury.


The trainer’s were elegantly and colourfully dressed as the main anticipated event was finally there. You wouldn’t know that it was a roleplay for assessment since it looked a real marriage “Koito.”


On Tuesday, the Kstvet Institute’s Hospitality Management department successfully executed the capstone Koito Service Roleplay, an intensive, high-fidelity simulation designed for third-year students.

This assessment models real-world event management, covering end-to-end service delivery, culinary production, front-of-house operations, and financial protocols. The primary objective was to validate student competencies under high-pressure, stakeholder-intensive conditions prior to industry placement.

The exercise was hosted on the Kstvet hotel grounds in Gigiri, transforming the training facilities into a fully operational, fine-dining venue. Students were assigned distinct functional roles (Culinary Lead, Maitre d’, Service Team, Logistics) requiring interdepartmental coordination and adherence to strict professional standards.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Assessed:Menu design and successful execution of complex recipes.Seamless sequence of service (SOS) delivery.Professionalism and problem-solving in guest interaction.Real-time resource management and cost control.
A critical component of the Koito assessment was the involvement of internal institute personnel serving as external clients. Invited guests included departmental heads and trainers from across Kstvet.

Each guest participated actively by contributing a mandatory Ksh 400 Guest Fee, simulating actual revenue transactions and embedding a fundamental lesson in operational finance for the students.The event achieved maximum institutional oversight with the attendance and direct observation of the Kstvet traninee.


The CEO’s presence acted as the ultimate benchmark for professionalism, providing an unparalleled measure of operational rigor and high-level critique for the student body.The student cohort demonstrated exceptional proficiency, managing high client volumes and complex service requirements with competence.
